A place of stillness in the Catalan mountains.
The air here is different. Cleaner. Quieter. Torres de Selma rests far from populated areas, cradled in a valley where you can listen to the silence of nature. The soft rustle of wind moving through ancient trees. Birdsongs. Space to breathe.
The entire property honours purity. Every building, every terrace, every forest path is smoke free. This protects the environment you have come to restore yourself within. It keeps the air fresh, the forest safe, and the land unmarked by contamination.
Thirty-seven hectares of nature surround you. Walk through woodland. Wander past the retention lakes created in 2020 and 2022. Stroll through gardens where your meals will soon be growing. Or simply settle into a hammock and listen. The wind through the trees. The call of birds. Your own steady breath returning to you.
Whether you seek the company of fellow guests or crave solitude, you will find pleasant sitting areas throughout the property. In sun or in shade. Near the buildings or deeper in the woods. Close your eyes. Just be.
When you wish to immerse yourself fully, the natural swimming pond awaits. Cool water surrounded by trees and fresh mountain air. Nearby, a sauna offers warmth and release. Both are available as part of your individual treatment plan, integrated thoughtfully into your Ayurvedic programme.
The guesthouse stands in the oldest part of Torres de Selma. The very first stones were laid around the year 945. Imagine that. Over a thousand years of walls holding stillness. Many additions have grown from those original foundations, and between 2016 and 2023, a comprehensive renovation breathed new life into these ancient spaces.
Authentic details remain. Rounded walls. Small windows set deep into impossibly thick stone. The building's history lives in every curve and shadow. And yet glass doors now welcome sunlight, bringing openness and light into spaces once shadowed by centuries.
Eight bedrooms await guests. Three rest on the first floor of the century-old building. The remaining rooms offer their own private entrances from outside. Each room has been renovated with natural materials, and each possesses its own character. A different view. A unique feature found only there. The variation comes from the building itself, from where each room sits within this layered history, from the dimensions the ancient walls allowed.
Your bed rests on a COCO-MAT mattress. Rain showers refresh you. Natural soaps cleanse gently. Fresh towels and organic cotton linens, soft against your skin, are provided. Daily cleaning keeps your space peaceful. The organic cotton sheets and towels remain unironed, a small choice that extends their life and reduces electricity. Another quiet act of care for the earth that holds this place.
The ground floor opens entirely to you. Four lounge areas invite rest between treatments. Quiet corners offer space for reflection. A small library in the old tower holds books for contemplation. And numerous terraces wrap around the building, each offering a different perspective on the forest, the garden, the mountains beyond.
Where meals become ceremony.
This space was built in 2022, rising between the old walls of what was once a ruin. A modern kitchen now serves a remarkable table: six metres long, one and a half metres wide. Twenty-two people can gather here with ease. Eating together. Enjoying together. This is the heartbeat of communal life at Torres de Selma.
The dishes placed before you feature vegetables freshly picked from the organic garden or sourced from nearby organic and eco origins. The chef flows with the seasons, creating menus that honour what the earth offers in each moment of the year. Fresh soups. Vibrant salads. Nourishing dishes crafted to support your Ayurvedic programme.
Savour the juice of the day, pressed from what grows here. Or wrap your hands around a cup of herbal tea, the herbs gathered from the garden that morning. Choose from a rich selection of infusions and find a quiet sitting area to enjoy it. Breathe in the silence. The pure prana of forest and mountain. Feel yourself becoming one with this place.
And the water. Torres de Selma offers GRANDER® water throughout the property. This beautiful, vitalising, pure water flows from every tap. A gift from nature to quench every thirst, to hydrate every cell, to remind you that simplicity can be profound.
Above the restaurant, a multifunctional room awaits on the first floor. Yoga. Meditation. Meetings. Celebrations. The space adapts to what is needed. When all the windows open, the forest seems to enter the room itself. An extraordinary feeling of being both indoors and outdoors at once. Trees visible on every side. Fresh air circulating. Your practice held by nature.
The surroundings of Torres de Selma invite exploration. Short walks close to the buildings for gentle movement. Longer hikes of several hours for those seeking adventure. Mountain bike routes for the more active. Or simply rest in a hammock, eyes closed, listening to wind and birds.
Regular walks are organised around the property. These introduce you to the retention basins, the lakes created in 2020 and 2022, and the permaculture principles being applied step by step, at the pace of nature itself. The land is healing. You are healing. The same rhythm guides both.
